Rusty Bailey

Rusty Bailey was born and raised here in Riverside, and graduated from Riverside Poly High School. He earned his Bachelors from West Point Military Academy in 1994 and served as an Army helicopter pilot. He went on to work in the US Department of HUD and the Executive Office of the President as part of the two-year Presidential Management Fellows Program.

Rusty later, he received a second Bachelors degree from UCLA and then his teaching credential from Cal State San Bernardino and returned to Riverside to teach Government at Riverside Poly High School, as well as serve on City Council from 2007 until 2012 when he was elected Mayor. Rusty served as Mayor until December 2020. Most recently he has returned to his post of teaching Riverside's up and coming generation as a teacher at Riverside Poly.

Arrive early to allow time to get a name badge and check-in with City Hall security who will send you up the elevator to the 7th floor when you let them know you're here for the Pick Group.
