Kathy Michalak is the Executive Director at Habitat for Humanity Riverside and Chair of Leadership Riverside Class of 2023. Recognized for her impact by countless local organizations and even State Senator Roth, Kathy has been named a “Woman of the Year” more times than you’ve been to brunch this year (and we know how how much you love avocado toast!) and we are thrilled to have her share her career journey with us.
Kathy Michalak
Kathy has served as Executive Director of Habitat Riverside since April of 2014. In addition to building new affordable housing for home ownership, under Kathy’s leadership, Habitat Riverside has become a leader in the preservation of affordable housing, focusing on low-income seniors who need home repairs or modifications to successfully age in in place. Prior to becoming Executive Director, Kathy served in several positions with the affiliate including fund development, A Brush With Kindness Project Manager and Construction Manager, beginning in 2010 after retiring from the newspaper business after 35 years. Kathy also earned her Class B Contractor’s license before becoming Habitat Riverside’s Construction Manager.
She currently serves on the Grants Committee for the Inland Empire Community Foundation, the Board of Directors of the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce, the Riverside Community Hospital Community Advisory Council, the Board of Directors for Provident Bank and is a graduate of Leadership Riverside Class of 2012.
