This discussion identifies authentic leadership styles by aligning actions with core values. Participants will explore strategies for setting intentional learning goals that not only enhance their leadership skills but also reflect who the truly are.

About Kyla Brown

Kyla Brown is the Parks Director/General Manager for the Riverside County Regional Park & Open-Space District (RivCoParks). She initially joined the RivCoParks team in 2010 and has been working in public service for over 30 years. In her role as General Manager, Kyla provides service to a diverse population of 2.5 million county residents. She oversees a wide range of functions managing over 120,000 acres of land, 7 regional parks, 7 open-space reserves, 7 nature and historic sites, and over 180 miles of trails. Kyla is passionate about parks, open-space and the outdoors and believes strongly in the positive impact those spaces have on physical and mental health.

Kyla is a Certified Park and Recreation Executive, as well as a Credentialed California County Senior Executive. A native to the Inland Empire, she has her Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from California State University, San Bernardino, and Master of Public Administration from California Baptist University.

Kyla is currently serving as the President for the California Park and Recreation Society and is a Director on the board for the National Association of County Park and Recreation Officials.

Kyla is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys camping, hiking, reading, and spending quality time with her family.
